Dream

From Erika's dream a project was born: discover the soul of a wild terrain and transform it into a great wine.

Our aim: produce the ideal wine respecting nature. Our journey started in 2001, when we first began to plant the  rst vineyards at 400 meters near Bolgheri. An enchanting location: Tenuta Sette Cieli can be found on top of the hills, looking out over terraced vineyards and the Tyrrhenian Sea, surrounded by the lush woods of Monteverdi Marittimo. Today Erika’s strength and courage live on in a dream with Ambrogio and Acqua. Tenuta Sette Cieli: an heritage.

Estate

SETTE CIELI, ABOVE US ONLY SKY.

Tenuta Sette Cieli is located between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, on the coast of Tuscany at 400 meters above sea level. The Estate sprawls out over 80 hectares, 10 of which are set up as vineyards. Dry stone wall terraces separate the different grape varieties grown: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec, are planted at high density in an ideal terrain for grape viticulture. The Estate overlooks Bolgheri and its landscapes made up of gently down sloping hills that enclose the sea, thus creating a fantastic mild and temperate microclimate.

Terroir

GREAT WINES CAN ONLY BE MADE IN A GREAT TERROIR.

The strength of this terroir: a unique microclimate, well ventilated with important atmospheric temperature ranges, and a medium textured soil where fractions of rocks, sand and clay merge together for a suitable site for grape production. The great strength of the microclimate, together with these not too vigorous terrains, results in an enviable balance that allows for consistent and complete maturations of the grapes.

Tradition

FROM AN OBSESSIVE CARE IN THE VINEYARDS, A CAREFUL WORK IN THE CELLAR, COME WINES WITH A GREAT PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER.

Fully respecting nature and the vines, we have chosen organic viticulture to cooperate to the safekeeping and valorisation of the environment, a value that cannot be separated from quality when working with nature. In the vineyards, every operation is done by hand with careful and fastidious attention to every detail. The journey continues in the cellar where, moreover, the careful labour of the vineyards goes on, using single-variety vinifcation. Fermentation starts with wild yeasts, found on the skins of the grapes, so all the process is natural. The final selection of the wines is done only after a period of barrel ageing in French oak barrels.

Indaco


Malbec, Cabernet and Merlot come together perfectly in this stimulating, articulated and structured wine, better expressing the complex and rich terroir, with spicy and red fruit aromas. Freshness, structure, persistence, a wine that preserves unchanged traits of the vintage and terroir, intensified by 18 months in barriques.

INDACO IGT Toscana

  • Grapes: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
  • Altitude: 400 m
  • Plant density: 9.300 vines/hectar
  • Harvest: after a selection of the best grapes, harvest is done by hand between the end of September and mid October
  • Vinification: Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with indigenous yeast. Skin contact maceration lasts roughly 20 days. Malo-lactic fermentation occurs in barrels after the alcoholic fermentation
  • Ageing: occurs in french oak barrels for 14 months followed by 6 months of bottle ageing
  • Total production: 25.000 bottles

Scipio


Cabernet Franc grown at 400 metres above sea level, a unique result, concentrated in very few bottles, vinified separately and aged 24 months in barriques. It seduces with complex fruity aromas and spiced notes. Its finesse and enthusiastic elegance together with the complex structure, make it a wine of rare character, a wine to meditate upon.

SCIPIO IGT Toscana

  • Altitude: 400 m
  • Plant density: 9.300 vines/hectar
  • Harvest: harvest takes place in October. Grapes are picked by hand after a selection of the best bunches
  • Vinification: Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with indigenous yeast. Skin contact maceration lasts roughly 25 days. Malo-lactic fermentation occurs in barrels after the alcoholic fermentation
  • Ageing: occurs in french oak barrels for 24 months followed by 12 months of bottle ageing
  • Total production: 4.000 bottles, only in the best vintages

Ripe sweet fruits give way to a wine with a very defined and yet very different character when compared to the other estate’s wines, born from grapes that are grown in Bolgheri, at sea level. A blend born of the desire to explore new territories, refined in barriques for 15 months, powerful fitting for a Bolgheri wine.

A vivacious wine, freshly persistent fruitiness, interesting for its complex simplicity. Harmonious, geometrical, born from the research of a universally pleasing wine, fresh with red fruit aromas. This balanced meeting between simplicity and vivaciousness, results in a pleasing and lively wine.
